Service Update June 2025
Temporary Changes to How We Care for You
Ōrākei Health Services is making temporary changes to how we deliver care in response to short-term staffing shortages. These changes are designed to ensure we can continue to provide safe, high-quality support to our enrolled patients, while protecting the wellbeing of our team.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this period together.
What's Changing?

Nurse Appointments
Nurses are available 7:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Triage and walk-in clinics will close at 2:00pm daily
- please arrive early or call ahead.
Telehealth Consults First
Where clinically safe, you’ll be offered a phone appointment with a GP before being booked for an in-person visit. This helps us manage capacity and reduce unnecessary delays.
Outreach Services
These are now limited to Wednesdays and Thursdays only, and will prioritise patients with high or complex needs. If you’re unsure if this applies to you or a whānau member, please speak to our team.
Admin & Forms
Some paperwork and requests (e.g., repeat prescriptions, referrals, lab forms) may take longer than usual. We’re managing these based on urgency and clinical need.
Enrolment Limitations
We are currently following a “1 in, 1 out” approach to new patient enrolments. If you’re enquiring on behalf of a family member, please let our team know so we can assess on a case-by-case basis.
How you can help.
Please call ahead whenever possible – this helps us triage and plan.
Be kind to our team — they are under pressure and doing their very best.
Let us know if your situation is urgent or worsening, so we can prioritise safely.
Thank you for walking alongside us as we manage this temporary phase together.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
